Task description: 

You will be part of an expert pool of on-demand experts supporting cities on a global level in early stage preparation of climate resilient and low carbon investment projects in the energy sector. The project will start in January 2022 and will run to September 2025. The different sub-projects will revolve around the following topics:

  • Support in development of economic and financial cost benefit analysis or environmental impact assessments;
  • Support in planning and technical and financial calculation of energy efficiency and/or renewable energy measures as well as GHG calculations;
  • Reporting and monitoring activities.

The different sub-projects will be implemented in teams consisting of senior, mid-level and junior experts. In this way, guidance of junior experts is ensured, whenever necessary. Project implementation can take place from home as well as in the respective project country, allowing you to gather first-hand international experience.


We are looking for 6 international junior experts with 2 years of professional experience. Reference projects with an assignment time (full-time months worked) of three (3) months or more within one calendar year will be assessed as one year of work experience.

  • 2 experts in planning and calculation of energy efficiency measures (buildings, street lighting, water/wastewater or other sectors related to municipal services), renewable energy facilities;
  • 1 expert in feasibility studies or environmental impact studies related to energy projects;
  • 1 expert in digital energy data management and analysis systems used in municipal context and/or monitoring;
  • 1 expert in developing local energy and climate plans.


  • University degree (master or German “Diplom”) in technical or economic courses of study, related to energy or climate issues.


  • All experts with knowledge of English (C1 level);
  • 1 expert with knowledge of French (B2 level);
  • 1 expert with knowledge of Spanish (B2 level);
  • 1 expert with knowledge of Portuguese (B2 level).
