We are delighted to announce an important milestone achieved through our programme “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to Protect the Marine Environment and Coral Reefs (3RproMar)” in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The comprehensive baseline assessment conducted by GOPA Infra has provided us with key information that will significantly contribute to the design of pilot projects aimed at effectively reducing plastic leakages from the environment, specifically from waterways. To tackle this issue, our approach will encompass a combination of technological interventions, behavior change initiatives, economic and financial incentives, as well as legal instruments. By employing these diverse strategies, we aim to achieve substantial reductions in plastic waste leakages. Through our collaboration with the city of Manado, GIZ, and key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors we are committed to creating a sustainable and plastic-free environment for Manado and its residents.
